A Journey Rooted in Craftsmanship
In 2014, in a quiet quarter of Bululawang, Malang, Galih Tri Pamungkas alongside Fajar Teguh Pribadi observed an urgent challenge: traditional master leatherworkers in their community were losing livelihood to cheap synthetic imports, forcing craftsmen to leave their ancestral villages.
With humble resources, they began with a straightforward conviction: borrowing handmade leather wallet samples from local artisans, photographing them in natural morning light, and connecting traditional Indonesian leathercraft directly with discerning collectors.
“We did not begin with expansive factories. We began on a single motorcycle, carrying each finished package to nocturnal dispatch hubs with a clear promise to our craftsmen: that their handiwork was noble, durable, and worthy of global appreciation.”
